<p>Beachgoers were stunned after two rare oarfish — sometimes called “doomsday fish” — appeared near the shore in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.</p><p>Oarfish are deep-sea creatures that usually live hundreds to thousands of feet below the ocean surface and are rarely seen by humans.</p><p>Seeing even one is extremely unusual. Spotting two in the same location is almost unheard of, making the moment go viral online.</p><p>The species is often linked to myths about natural disasters, though scientists say there is no evidence they predict earthquakes or other events. </p>
